Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://edenlessadam.com.

This website is operated by Rafi Adam as an online portfolio showcasing creative and professional work. For any questions regarding this website or your data, you can reach out via email at adam@edenlessadam.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect minimal personal data necessary to operate this portfolio website, communicate with prospective clients or collaborators, improve site performance, and protect the site from spam and security threats. Our legal bases for processing this data are your explicit consent (such as when you submit a contact form or leave a comment) and our legitimate interests in maintaining a functional, secure portfolio website. We do not collect or retain sensitive personal data (such as health or financial data).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. All uploaded media files are generally publicly accessible.

Contact forms

When you submit an inquiry through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message content you provide. We collect this information solely to respond to your inquiries, discuss potential projects, or provide customer service. We retain contact form submissions for 12 months for reference and communication tracking, and we never use the information submitted through them for unsolicited marketing purposes.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages or portfolio items on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos from YouTube/Vimeo, code snippets, or social media posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our portfolio (such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and general geographic region). This data is anonymized and used strictly to improve the website’s layout and content.

You can opt out of analytics tracking by adjusting your browser’s “Do Not Track” settings, disabling cookies in your browser, or using browser extensions such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties. However, to keep the site fast, secure, and functional, certain technical data is processed by the following service providers:

  • Web Hosting Provider Rumahweb: Processes server logs and hosted content to deliver the website to your browser.

  • QUIC.cloud: Processes and caches site data temporarily to improve page load speeds (see the Cache section below).

  • Akismet (Automattic): Checks comment and contact form submissions against global spam databases (see the Akismet section below).

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

  • Contact Form Entries: Retained for 12 months after the last communication, unless ongoing project work requires keeping correspondence on file.

  • Registered Users (if applicable): For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

  • Analytics & Server Logs: Retained for up to 12 months before automatic deletion or aggregation.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have left comments, or have submitted a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To exercise any of these rights (access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent), please contact us at adam@edenlessadam.com.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments and form submissions may be checked through an automated spam detection service (Akismet) and processed through global content delivery servers (QUIC.cloud) located outside of your home country or the European Economic Area (EEA). Whenever data is transferred internationally, we rely on third-party service providers that implement standard data protection safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and strict encryption protocols, to ensure your data remains protected.
